It has been a long and brutal pre-production period, but we're finally getting into the thick of things. Today was day one of our shoot. Tired to say the least, but excited! Our 2nd unit crew grabbed some nice establishing shots around Queens today. With our DP still on bed rest from an unfortunate accident 24 hours before we started shooting, our crew really picked up the slack and made it happen!! We traveled around Main Street, to College Point and Long Island City. Our Producer caught a flat tire 15 minutes into the shoot but overall it was good. Surprisingly, a cement company invited us into their factory grounds to shoot anything we wanted! And with the Mayors Office new rules for shooting, no permits needed! Tomorrow we're on the Van Wyck Expressway in the afternoon. Follow us daily now that we're really in it. And for those of you who are tech geeks like us, we are indeed using a DSLR camera to shoot a feature film. Read it back twice if you have to.
